My grandmother's beloved past time is to search for “the best old time sound” that at her 75 years maybe makes her a inveterate audiophile. She is really used to listening to songs from old forms of data carriers and always said that modern technologies can't propose appropriate quality of sound. She denied usage of the CDs even when it get more frequently utilized than vinyl.

She collected many vinyl records over the years, most from her music lover friend John, whom she called “Jocko” and others from her friends and sons. She has even some Elvis Presley records. Unfortunately, the collection has gotten smaller with time as the albums were used intensively. One day, I asked her to show me her records and I was quite astonished that I found a lot of interesting for myself.

My grandmother wanted to prove for us, her grandchildren, that her records are worthy of praise. She realized that the most suitable method to perform it is to use some device that is able to convert songs from vinyl to the format that would be understandable for PC.

She got a USB turntable and began to convert the sound. I was extremely astonished when I found it. As it figured out, my grandmother found the online store which proposes that type of equipment and got a turntable to test it in action.

For people of view less advanced than my granny, USB turntables are super-modern widgets which allow you to copy your beloved vinyl records into digital format. They come in different forms and price ranges. I think that is a very complicated task to such an old woman to understand all the nuances of today's technologies, but was wrong. That is why she made decision to determine the limit of money which she may afford to expend on buying a turntable.

As it turned out my granny found some information on Stanton USB turntables online. The other modifications which appear to have a good quality and quite normal prices are Numark TT USB turntables. She thought that it won't be enough just to study the stuff about features and she desired to try both models.

I called my sister and let her know of our granny's experiments with today's music technology. She was impressed and made decision that she really wanted to listen to the old woman's beloved music on her iPod. Wouldn't you be proud to get a grandmother like mine?
